Betty was originally a factory small window truck that underwent a big window conversion. The truck rides on a 2006 Silverado chassis that has been heavily modified to accommodate the Accuair suspension. The addition of Accuair E-Level+ allows for remote control of the airbags, the system is powered by two ViAir 485c compressors and an Accuair 3-gallon Endo tank.
The body of the truck was subtly modified. Starting with the drip rails being shaved and the addition of the eyebrow visor. The front fenders were widened along the lip to allow for complete steering capabilities with the truck as lower ride heights. Starting with a factory GM color we altered the formula and added more mettalics and pearls to give us a color we refer to as "Betty Blues", which we mixed in PPG Deltron. The White also comes from PPG, although from their Vibrance line and is called "Jack Frost White". When it came time to design a color scheme, it was very intentional that from the outside it appeared sleek, classic, and not overdone. However, the entire underside of the truck is white.
Opening the engine bay reveals a color matched engine block, with a white pearl engine bay that really allows for the Stage 3 Ls1 to stand out. Opting to stay with the factory inner fenders was also an intentional choice. We really wanted this truck to appear as factory as possible and allow for the minor changes to take time to notice. The underside of the cab is tinted raptor liner, which gives the durability of a driver with the finished look of a trailer queen. The entirety of the inside of the bed is White as it rides on a painted chassis. Really allowing us to create a beautiful dance between the two colors visually.
The wheels were custom made by MTW in Santa Paula, CA, and are truly a one of a kind three-piece steelie wheel. With the chrome lip and color matched faces, the wheels almost appear to be standing still as the truck is in motion. The wheels were designed in a way that allows us to tuck the wheel into both front and rear fenders without having to modify the inner fenders, or the bed. Absolute masterpieces representing form and function.
The interior is finished in White leather and a classic textile taking you back in time when you sit in the truck. The Dakota digital gauges, IDidit steering column, and JL Audio sound system really take the truck into a modern time.
